According to another article published in Romania-insider.ro’s Irina Popescu, Oradea, is perceived as the local city with the best medical facilities.  Oradea has 16 state-owned and private hospitals, as well as more than 90 private practices and dozens of pharmacies.

Brasov, a mountain resort in central Romania, ranked second among the local cities with the best medical facilities, followed by Timisoara, Targu Mures, and Baia Mare. The top ten was completed by Pitesti, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Bucharest, and Craiova.

On the other hand, the cities with the poorest medical facilities are Giurgiu, Focsani, Tulcea, Calarasi, and Botosani, the study shows.

The research analyzed the Romanians’ perceptions on the medical facilities in the country. For the ranking, the study participants were asked to evaluate the cities and neighborhoods where they live based on the access to medical facilities, on a scale from 1 to 5 (where 1 is very bad and 5 is very good). Only the entries that have received at least 100 responses were included in the final ranking.

In terms of historical regions, over 8,300 Romanians selected Banat as the region with the best medical facilities. Next in the top were Maramures, Crisana, and Transylvania. Meanwhile, Dobrogea, Moldova, and Muntenia got the lowest scores, being at the bottom of the ranking.

In Bucharest, the neighborhoods with the best medical facilities are Stefan cel Mare, Dorobanti, Cotroceni, Floreasca, and Aviatiei. Also in the top ten, there are Basarabia, Titan, Brancoveanu, Baba Novac, and Berceni. Meanwhile, the last places are occupied by Prelungirea Ghencea, Ferentari, and 23 August (Catelul).
