• Kazakhstani oil company KazMunaiGaz, which acquired Romanian oil company Rometrol in 2008, invested an estimated €455 million in the construction of a marine terminal; an oil load line; and in the implementation of a refinery modernisation plan, which should be completed in 2012.

• Italian energy group Enel will invest an estimated €300 million in the construction of a 200 MW wind farm project in Romania. 
  

• French hypermarket network Cora invested €13 million in acquiring a 40,000 m² plot of land from state-owned auto parts producer Hidromecanica.
   
  
• Austrian DIY retailer BauMax invested an estimated €10-15 million in opening its 11th store in Pitesti, which has a total surface of 15,000 m².

• Italian polyethylene tubing producer Sami Plastic will invest €1.8 million in expanding the production and logistics capacity of its factory in Suceava. The company also recently invested €1.1 million in acquiring a plot of land in Titu, Dambovita County on which they plan to build two new production units.
   
  
• Italian pharmaceutical company Recordati Group invested €1.2 million in acquiring Romanian marketing company ArtMed International.
   
  
• Polish investment fund Enterprise Investors invested an estimated €500,000 in opening its 69th Profi store in Faget, Timis County.

• Cypriot real estate developer Omilos will invest an estimated €25 million in the construction of a mall within the ERA Shopping Park complex in Iasi.
   
  
• International financial institution UniCredit Tiriac Bank will invest an estimated €20 million in the construction of a new office building in northern Bucharest.
   
  
• Turkish businessperson Tunc Capa will invest €16 million in the construction of an outlet project with a capacity of 70 stores a total rentable surface of 12,500 m², in southeast Bucharest.
   
  
• Romanian businessperson George Copos will invest €2 million in restoration and modernisation works for the 5-star Athenee Palace Hilton hotel in Bucharest.
   
  
• Romanian hotel company Tusnad will invest €1.1 million in expanding and modernising the Olt Hotel located in Tusnad, Harghita County.
