The Romanian National Railway Company CFR SA organizes an open tender on April 11, 2011 to assign the contract referring to rehabilitation works of railway tunnels within the range of the Regional Railway Branches based in Brasov and Timisoara (central Romania).
According to the company, the works' total value was put at nearly 6.20 million euros (26.291 million lei), pre-VAT (value added tax) and the deadline will be set up to 12 months from the assignment.
The assignment criterion is the most advantageous offer from the economic viewpoint, with a proportion of 80 percent for the financial component and of 20 percent for the technical proposal.
The contract aims to rehabilitate five railway tunnels, divided into two parcels for each county. The funding source is assured through post-accession non-repayable funds via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), namely 69.25 percent and the contribution from the public budget standing at 30.75 percent.
