• Swedish health group Medicover will invest €40 million in an 88-bed hospital in northern Bucharest.

•  Belgian retail company Delhaize le Lion Group will invest an estimated €20-30 million in expanding its Romanian network by 16 units in 2010: they will increase their Mega Image network by ten units and the discount chain Red Market by six units.

•  Kazakh oil company Rompetrol Petrochemicals will invest €13.5 million in a 70% increase in the production capacity of its high-density polyethylene installation in its Petromidia refinery (the largest in the country); the project is set for completion by March 2011.

•  Cypriot Rolex importer and distributor Chronolink will invest an estimated €10 million over the next five years in expanding its store network. The first is to be located in the centre of Bucharest following an investment of over €500,000

•  Romanian investment fund Balkan Investment Fund, owned by Axxess Capital, invested €7 million in acquiring a 40% share in Romanian toy producer Noriel.

•  Hungarian construction company Arcadom invested €6 million in acquiring a 50% share of the Atrium Center Mall from British investment fund Carpathian.

•  Italian oil company Eni will invest €5.2 million in modernising its Agip gas stations, and building or acquiring new gas stations to reach its yearend goal of 42 units in total.

•  Romanian milling and bakery products company Dobrogea Grup invested €5 million in an automated bread production line for its factory in Constanta.

•  German aggregates and building materials manufacturer HeidelbergCement will invest €3.9 million in increasing the production capacity of its factory in Bicaz, Neamt County.

•  Romanian electrical automation company Electromagnetica will invest an estimated €3-6 million in the modernisation of one of its micro-hydro power plants on the Suceava River.

•  Romanian pharmaceutical company Bio Eel will invest €2.5 million in the construction of a cosmetics factory and a new microbiology laboratory.

•  German retailer Praktiker invested €1.3 million in expanding its store in Deva, Hunedoara County, from 4,200 m²to 5,500 m².

• French retail company Interex invested €1 million in opening its 13^th store in Drobeta Turnu-Severin. The store has a total surface of 2,000 m².

   

Real Estate

•  Belgian real estate developer Atenor Group will invest an estimated €150 million in the construction of an office building with a total surface of 70,000 m², which will be located in northern Bucharest. Construction works are set to begin this year.
