• Austrian oil and gas company OMV Petrom will invest an estimated €100 million in the construction of a 45 MW Aeolian power plant in southeastern Romania, which is set to become functional in summer 2011.

• • Turkish wood processing company Prolemn will invest €80 million in a chipboard factory located in Reghin, Mures County, which is set to become functional in 2011.

• • Romanian businessperson Gabriel Popoviciu will invest €22 million in the construction of a cinema centre, an entertainment centre, and a gas station. The 15,000 m² cinema will have 13 screens, a total capacity of 2,700 seats and will be finalised in the second half of 2011; the entertainment centre will be 4,000 m² in size, and is set to open in spring 2011.

• • Romanian private medical services provider Medlife will invest an estimated €15 million in a second private hospital to be located in central Bucharest. In addition, the company invested €1 million in the construction of a clinic in the northern Bucharest, which will be extended at year’s end following another €1 million investment.

• • Romanian meat processing company Unicarm will invest an estimated €10 – 30 million in opening 10-15 new stores in various locations.

• • Israeli auto group Sixt New Kopel invested €5.7 million last week in acquiring a 4,150 m² Romanian car dealership featuring a showroom, an auto service centre and an auto parts warehouse.

• • German plastics producer Rochling will invest over €5 million in opening a 5,000 m² auto parts production unit in Craiova, Dolj County. The factory will most likely supply Romanian Ford and Dacia factories.

• • Swiss-Romanian supermarket chain Angst will invest up to €5 million in opening five new stores in Bucharest, for a total of 27 stores by the end of 2010.

• • Romanian wine producer Cramele Recas will invest an estimated €4 million in the modernisation of its viticulture equipment and in the re-conversion of over 100 ha of vineyard.

• Romanian bakery producer and distributor Pan Group will invest an estimated €2 million in expanding its store network and in modernising production lines at its factory in Craiova, Dolj County.

• • British investment fund 3TS Cisco invested €2 million in acquiring a 25% share of the Romanian online marketing company Internet Corp.

• Romanian Honda dealer Raiman Auto invested €2 million in the construction of a dealership featuring a showroom and an auto service centre. Their investment plan for 2010 also includes opening 2-3 more dealerships with an average of €2 million each.

• American ceramic insulators manufacturer Lapp Insulators will invest an estimated €1 million in 2010 in acquiring equipment and implementing new technologies at its factory in Turda, Cluj County.

• • Romanian fashion company Rafar, part of RTC Group, invested €700,000 in opening the seventh Debehams of its network at Sun Plaza mall located in southern Bucharest. The store is 1,000 m² in size.

Real Estate

• • Romanian real estate company Cocor will invest €18 million in the general restoration of their store in central Bucharest; it is set to reopen by year’s end.

• Romanian law firm Bostina and Associates invested €5 million in a new office located in the centre of Bucharest.
