New promotion project for ski slopes of Romania is launched in Brasov

The largest nationwide tourist information and promotion project dealing with the homologated ski slopes of Romania - 'i-Tour Ski' - was launched on Wednesday in Brasov (central Romania), by the Federation of Associations for Tourism Promotion in Romania and Groove Hour, together with the Association for the Promotion and Development of Tourism in Brasov.

For the first time nationwide, 78 homologated ski slopes of 11 counties in Romania are promoted through tourist brochures, supplied free for tourists, through the national tourist information and promotion project 'i-Tour Ski.'

Other two recently opened slopes, one in Gura Humorului (north-eastern Romania) and another in Maramures (northern Romania), will be only ones promoted on-line, said Groove Hours marketing manager Dragos Paiu.

'Through this project, we want to take tourists to the areas where they get more rarely and in a very small number. We also want other tourist areas in this country to be well promoted and known by tourists. Now tourists in over 30 places in 11 counties will benefit from free maps of the homologated ski slopes, maps of the resorts and nearby towns, each having the sight-seeing spots marked on them. These brochures will be at the hotels' receptions or at the tourist information points of those places, the tourists only have to ask for them,' Dragos Paiu also said.

'i-Tour Ski' is a national tourist information and promotion project, initiated by Groove Hour in 2005. In 2010 it comes with the largest tourist information campaign accomplished until now - over one million free tourist information brochures distributed in over 400 places in the most visited tourist areas in Romania: the seaside, the Danube Delta and the Prahova Valley.
