Most modern centre of ski jumping in Romania is opened at Rasnov

The first three takeoff platforms at the centre of ski jumping, the only one in Romania and one of the most modern in Eastern Europe, were inaugurated on Tuesday in Valea Carbunarii at Rasnov, Brasov County (central Romania). 

The centre of ski jumping is created by the Rasnov town hall together with the Romanian Ski and Biathlon Federation and the K 90 takeoff platform, which is being built, is financed by the Ministry of Tourism and Regional Development. 

The inauguration of the three takeoff platforms, K 15, K 35 and K 64, was marked by a display given by the junior and senior national ski jumping teams in groups A, B and C.

The three takeoff platforms started being built in 2010 and the value of the investment is 3 million euros.

'They go on working on two referee towers, a cable chair, a car park for 80 motorcars and 10 buses. They will also have night lighting, will buy a snow-beating machine, these investments will amount to 7 million euros,' Rasnov mayor Adrian Vestea told Agerpres.

The K 90 takeoff platform will be finished next year and in 2013 Rasnov will play host to ski jumping during the European Youth Olympic Festival, which will be held in Brasov and another five towns in the Prahova Valley. 

The centre of ski jumping will make it possible for sportspeople to benefit both in summer and in winter from very good conditions of training for the national and international competitions, according to the general secretary of the Romanian Ski and Biathlon Federation Puiu Gaspar, who attended the inauguration.
