Emil Boc : The plan for the restructuring of the state-run companies to be known before the end of J

The plan for the restructuring of the state-run companies who are the objective of the government analysis and the IMF mission to Bucharest will be known by the end of July, premier Emil Boc stated on Saturday in Bacau.
« In a short while, for each company of the state will be decided the way to go on with the activity : restructuring, improvement of management, privatisation » to be made « on the basis of a restructuring plan by the end of July » the head of government said. The premier showed that it is urgent these state-run companies be profitable.

« Each state-run company and each autonomous company will get in May in a process of evaluation and analysis » as « unfortunately, a part of them are inefficient, have no funds and management to support them, they consume the public money even 50% of what they spend they get from the state budget, money which should, normally, be destined to investment, salaries or pensions » the premier said.

Referring to the possibility of some lay-offs in the process of restructuring, the premier said that « it did not start from laying –off people » as « this is not the objective of the reform » but « to make cost and profit analysis to establish the number of employees for the state-run companies and the autonomous companies to be efficient ». The Premier restated that the restructuring of these companies has in mind a management of the public money to investment, salaries, pensions and the other state obligations.

The government adopted on Friday an emergency ordnance to strengthen discipline in autonomous companies and state-run companies. The restructuring programme is on the agenda of the dialogue with the present mission of IMF to Bucharest.

Emil Boc was to Bacau on Saturday where, after taking part in the inauguration of social centre « school after school » in Tamasi and the planting of some trees, he presented the PDL motion he is going to present for the PDL leadership. During the visit Emil Boc was accompanied by ministers Anca Boagiu, Marian Igaş, Valeriu Tabără, Daniel Funeriu, as well as Gheorghe Flutur and Gheorghe Ştefan.
