French retailer Cora, which is currently working on its own shopping center in Constanta, plans to start works on two new such projects in Brasov and Bacau. The investment in the Brasov mall will reach around EUR 100 million. A similar investment is required for the one in Constanta, which should be ready in 2012 and opened under the name Corall. These shopping center should be accompanied by residential areas, with Cora currently looking for development partners on the residential side.
The two new projects will most likely be started in 2012, according to Philippe Lejeune, general manager of Cora Romania (in picture). The company has been investing around EUR 50 million in new land plots in Romania in recent years. Cora will also open two new hypermarkets this year – one in Drobeta Turnu Severin and one in Arad.
